LOW BATTERY
Hi, hej, G'day
Its no secret if you look at the date of my last blog post that my battery has BEEN low! A lot has happened since I was last here, first I finished my first semester of uni and from the get go I knew it wouldn't be easy but what I was faced with was not at all was I was "prepared for" nor expected. Also at the beginning of the year I had plans to go to europe during their summer and I booked my ticket half way through what was a very challenging semester and that helped me get through that semester okay gina!
Once the semester ended three days later your home girl jetted off to Sweden for a month ( I also spent five days in London, totally a must to make the most of cheap airway tickets when in Europe) and it was AMAZING! That word doesn't do it justice, being able to get away from home and everything I was used to and tired of was really a refreshing experience. When the plane touched down I felt as though I exhaled a breath I'd been holding in for MONTHS! I got to see my family from when I was on exchange there last time, I reunited with old school friends, partied, went sight seeing, shopped, laughed, ate, danced just had a really good time away from home and allowed my self to just be in the moment and really just live carefree for a month. But all good things must come to an end and thus my trip came to an end not abruptly but when the time came I was ready to come home.
The first few weeks of being back in Oz were rough sleeping wise my sleeping patter was messed up, jet lagged didn't just get me it captured me, locked me up and threw the key in a hay stack. I struggled quiet a lot I would wake up at five in the afternoon then eat brelundin (breakfast, lunch and dinner) go to work, then I get back have a fruit and tea the try and sleep. This attempt usually results in me staying awake until four, five, or six okay until the really early am's it was so bad I tried everything, working out before sleeping, drinking warm milk and honey nothing worked. My body clock was out of wack with Oz time and then getting back into the groove of life here was all really hard sleep wise. Fast forward to the start of semester two this was a bittersweet start but in terms of sleep it helped a sister out.
Now we are three weeks deep into semester two and my battery is leaning more towards the high but that comes from a major shift in my attitude and making a conscious effort to constantly check myself. I think my downfall in semester one aside from it being a totally new experience was my attitude during the first half, attitude really was and is the only immediate thing I have control over. If you can tackle your attitude straight away then the situation suddenly becomes a lot more manageable. Right now I'm not exactly ecstatic about the way things are going but I know things are going to fare a lot better this semester. Not going to make promises of posting on a regular basis but I do enjoy the release of writing.
