Eats with Mates: Cyren

Hey Merry merry and Happy Happy, I hope your festive season has been filled with laughs, hugs and many food babies...Welcome to 2016 on Massy's World.

Eats with mates: Cyren

I headed to the city in search of make-up but silly me didn't eat breakfast and it happened to work in my favour as my friend did eat too so we were both in dire need of a good feed! Sorry Macca's (McDonalds) you don't make the cut we needed wholesome, fresh, and nourishing food. We decided on Cyren, a bar, grill and seafood restaurant its one of the many restaurants dotted along Darling Harbour.

When we arrived, the restaurant was buzzing and looked packed, I immediately prayed that we wouldn't have to wait, and thankfully we were sat immediately. The service was average nothing outstanding nor was is terrible just meh, for lack of a better word. Our server was very polite and attended to our needs as we requested. The restaurant was buzzing with activity, but the buzz was slightly calmed by the view of the harbour. One slight downfall was the layout, the tables are so close to one another that hearing your neighbours conversation wasn't optional

Entree: We ordered the Trio of dips served with taramasalata, black olive tapenade, smoked salmon and dill dip, with sourdough bread. My favourite of the dips was the black olive, had a very pungent taste of olive which made my mouth water! The salmon and dill disappointed me only because I love salmon but dill doesn't sit well with me.

Main: I ordered the Caesar salad with smoked salmon (YUM). The perfect salad requires a perfect ratio of lettuce to other ingredients, often you end up having more lettuce than anything else but this salad had the perfect balance. Each bite I had was flavourful! The salmon was obviously the star of me, smoked to perfection and complemented well by creaminess of the caesar dressing.

April (My friend) opted for the T-bone cooked medium with mashed potato and mushroom sauce. She tore this steak up in ten minutes flat! She enjoyed it so much at thirty minutes later she was still talking about how good it was.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it though (Major sad face!) as mentioned before I didn't eat breakfast and that messes my eating up, so I got full really quick! But none the less the food was delicious! Price was standard for the area our bill was just shy of one hundred dollars but remember you pay for the food and the view too, it was well worth it though! Would I return to Cyren? Yes, in fact I'll be giving it another swing this week, and I also suggested it to my parents which says a lot because I would never send my parents to any old restaurant.
